Just days after the Vegas portion of the AAU season wrapped up, the UNLV Runnin' Rebels got its first commitment for the 2018 Class whenever Trey Woodbury through his AAU team's Twitter page @VegasEliteHoops on his attentions to stay home.
Woodbury, a 6-foot-4 guard from Clark High, is the first local, not from Bishop Gorman or Findlay Prep, to commit to the Rebels since four year player Anthony Marshall.
After averaging more than 14 points during his junior year at Clark, Woodbury will come to the Rebels as a player that has the potential to fill a very specific need for UNLV. A deft outside shooter, Woodbury will compete for playing time next year at the off-guard position.
Woodbury is ranked No. 101 nationally and is currently listed as a four-star prospect. He helped the Chargers reach the 4A state title game this past season.
UNLV beat out regional teams USC, Arizona State, Utah State and Air Force for Woodbury's commitment.
