for the Rebels. Last night, Katin
Reinhardt scored a team high 19 points in victory. On Saturday
afternoon, it was Savon
Goodman's 17 points and 6 rebounds that paced the Rebels in the
win.
UNLV was sloppy on the offensive end in the first half and once again had
trouble defending the perimeter. The Gee-Gee's hit on 7-17 three pointers
in the first half to head into the locker room with a 45-42 victory. Ottawa was led by Johnny Berhanemeskel's 22 points at the break. He was held scoreless in the second half.
After a lackluster first game, Bryce Dejean-Jones scored a team high
18 points while connecting on 7-11 from the floor and 2-3 from three point
range. He also grabbed eight rebounds, handed out three assists, and
collected three steals in a well-rounded game.
Justin Hawkins was solid for the Rebels as well. The senior hit 2-of-3
three pointers and finished the night with 12 points and five rebounds.
After trailing by three at the half, UNLV used a 13-1 run to gain control of
the game. The lead ballooned to 85-65 with less than three minutes left to
play.
The Rebels didn't rely on the three pointer as they had the night
before. UNLV only launched 14 three pointers. UNLV did alot of
damage on the inside, thwarting the smaller Gee-Gee's with 18 offensive
boards. UNLV out-rebounded Ottawa 45-29.
Reinhardt left the game as a precaution midway through the second half after
an awkward landing on a successful block attempt. He sat the rest of the
game with his knee iced on the bench, but it is not believed to be
serious.
The Runnin' Rebels arrived in Canada Thursday night.Anthony Bennett
(Fr., F), Khem Birch
(So., F) and
Roscoe Smith (Jr., F)
are not participating in Canada. The Rebels finish the tour with games on
Monday and Tuesday night.
