UNLV tips off the first of four exhibition games in Canada Saturday night
against the Carleton Ravens, the two-time defending national champions of the
CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport).
The Runnin' Rebels, which traveled only 10 players, arrived in Canada
Thursday night.  Anthony Bennett
(Fr., F), Khem Birch (So., F) and
Roscoe Smith (Jr., F)
are not participating in Canada.  The Rebels will play four games in four
days in two cities.
"I'll probably play four different starting lineups in the four games,
but I also want to make sure I give guys adequate minutes for them to get a feel
for what we are trying to do," Coach Rice told Rebel-Net.com.
With so many new faces on the floor, winning isn't the primary goal.
"We need to make sure our guys learn pace of play and style of
play.  It's critically important that we play hard on both ends of the
floor," said Rice.
"We need to stay together and play together," he added. "One
of the things we were proudest was our assist numbers from last year.  That
is symptomatic of a team that plays well together."
All four games will be available free of charge on UNLVRebels.com.  How
quickly after each game the videos are available depends on the logistics.
In addition to being available at UNLV's official site, Sunday's game against
the University of Ottawa will be available live via an online stream.
Scheduling and viewing details are listed below.
Please note:  The times listed are LAS VEGAS times.
