UNLV received a verbal commitment from James Peters, a 6-8, 210 pound power forward
from Butler County C.C. in El Dorado, Kansas.

"I did commit to UNLV", Peters told Rebel Net.  "I've talked to a
lot of schools like Texas Tech, Auburn and Illinois, but I decided to come to Vegas."
"I really like the Mountain West Conference style", explained the soft spoken
Peters.  "They like to move and get up and down the court alot."
As a freshman at Butler County last season, Peters averaged 13 points and 6 rebounds per
game.  He says that this year he is looking to improve upon that.
"I'm quicker than most big men," said the Chicago native.  "I have
some good low post moves but this year I am going to really work on my perimeter
game."
With solid verbal commitments from both Demetrius Hunter and James Peters, the Rebels will
have one remaining scholarship to give.  Next weekend, UNLV hosts the top junior
college player in the nation,
