J.K. Edwards Visits UNLV

J.K Edwards is a 6-8, 260 pound power forward from JC powerhouse Indian Hills CC in Ottumwa, Iowa. J.K has a long list of schools he is interested in in addition to UNLV. Those schools include Wisconsin, Iowa, Iowa State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, St. Louis, Tennessee, and Texas Christian.

"I intend on signing early," said Edwards. "But this is only my first visit. Next week I am not travelling anywhere, but after that I am taking visits to Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Oklahoma. I really don't have a top school right now, but I'll trim the list down after those visits."
J.K. recently performed in South America with current Rebel Marcus Banks in the Tournament of the Americas. As a team, the USA squad enjoyed little success, but Edwards does not regret the experience.
"That was a really tough tournament," said J.K. "We were a bunch of youngsters playing against professionals. Down there it's an entirely different game. It's completely guard oriented. If a big man gets the ball in the post, they would double and triple right away. Marcus played really well down there. He has all the skills of a perfect point guard."

As far as his game is concerned, Edwards admits that his strength is on the offensive side of the ball.

"Right now I am a better offensive player than a defensive player, but I'm starting to focus on the defensive end of the court," said Edwards. "I can also hit the outside jumpshot, but because of my bulk I am always playing the five spot (center)."

Edwards will return to Indian Hills this year in pursuit of an NJCAA championship.

"We are going to win it all this year," said the North Carolina born Edwards. "We've got everybody back plus we added a couple of nice transfers. I already told Antwain that it's over for them. He's not getting that ring this year. This year it is ours."
