TROTWOOD, Ohio - The Trotwood-Madison Rams had their annual Red/White scrimmage on Saturday afternoon and BuckeyeGrove.com was there to take in all of the action. The Rams have several future division I prospects throughout their roster and many of those prospects made big plays on Saturday.
The headliner of the group was of course senior safety Bam Bradley. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound prospect was extremely active and once again showed that he is among the hardest hitters in the Midwest from his safety position.
Also showing well were a pair of junior prospects in linebacker Mike McCray and defensive back Reon Dawson. McCray holds four early verbal offers from Purdue, Syracuse, Tennessee, and Toledo and it was easy to see why. McCray moves very well at his size and showed the versatility to play all three linebacker spots.
For Dawson, this season is expected to be a coming out party as he moves into the starting lineup opposite fellow super junior Cameron Burrows. The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder showed outstanding recovery speed and fluid hips for a taller player. Dawson's exceptional interception was one of the highlight's of the scrimmage.
Looking down the road, keep an eye on freshman running back Harrison Johnson. Johnson broke for a long touchdown run (the longest run of the day) and has a special blend of vision, quickness, and speed that should eventually make him a highly recruited prospect.
