N.C. standout visits Auburn

South Iredell athlete Quataye Smyre made the six-hour drive from his home in Statesville, N.C. to Auburn Saturday for his first-ever trip to the Plains.

The 5-foot-10, 165-pound Smyre had high expectations before visiting the national champions and wasn't disappointed after leaving.

"It was great. I loved it," said Smyre. "It was a very good experience for me. I knew it was going to be great, and that's what I got."

Smyre met with most of the Auburn coaches including head man Gene Chizik and offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn....
